Darning Workshop Online Wed, Mar 12th, 7-9 pm EST
Learn to darn! If you have holes in your clothes, we can help you learn how to fix them yourself!
This is an online class- please come prepared with 1-3 garments to mend. Holes should be no bigger than the size of a clementine/mandarin orange. We highly recommend starting with a sweater, but you can also mend items like socks, knit scarves, and medium weight wovens (i.e. cotton flannel, wool flannel, linen, gauzy fabrics).
Denim, lightweight fabrics, t-shirt material, leather/suede do not work well with this technique.
Materials list:
-darning egg (alternatively, a small orange or other piece of citrus fruit that fits in your hand comfortably)
-yarn or embroidery floss
-variety of needles: darning, tapestry, embroidery
-scissors
*materials available for purchase in our kit
