Hand Darning with Next Season NYC at Talea, Cobble Hill in Brooklyn Sun, Mar 23, 2pm- 5pm
Sunday, March 23, 2:00pm- 5:00pm
Learn to darn! If you have holes in your clothes, we can help you learn how to fix them yourself! Ticket includes a complimentary drink from Talea, as well as needles, embroidery floss, and yarn. There will be scissors + darning eggs available to borrow, or feel free to bring your own!
Please come prepared with 1-3 garments to mend. Holes should be no larger than the size of a ping pong ball. We highly recommend starting with a sweater, but you can also mend items like socks, knit scarves, and medium weight wovens (i.e. cotton flannel, wool flannel, linen, gauzy fabrics).
Denim, lightweight fabrics, t-shirt material, leather/suede do not work well with this technique.
Next Season is a Brooklyn-based upcycled knitwear brand transforming old, damaged sweaters into one-of-a-kind pieces. By giving knits a second life, we're challenging the fashion industry's take-make-waste model and building a circular future.
Talea Beer Co is a female-founded brewery based in New York. They have multiple locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
